Room Layouts Guide For Events

Choosing a layout for your event can be tricky, but fear not, Hireall.ie are here to help! We've compiled the most popular event layout styles and are pleased to share this helpful guide with you. Let's look at some of these options, what events they're most suitable for and what furniture we recommend...

You may wish to consider this layout style if you're hosting:

  • For conferences where minimal note taking is required
  • Short to medium length presentations
  • Accommodating a large volume of attendees, such as in an examinations hall
  • A Show

This layout simply involves all guests facing the front of the room in rows of chairs. We recommend our Samsonite Folding Chair Red / Blue, which has feet bungs to prevent scratching floors and are foldable for ease of transportation and storage, perfect for high volume events.

You should plan for at least 30 inches between rows of seats, or more to allow your guests optimum ease of movement.

You should also allow for gap in the middle and space along the sides to serve as aisles for your guests.

Classroom Style Layout

This layout looks just how it sounds, like a classroom! You may wish to consider this style of layout if you're hosting:

  • Informal events where speakers and attendees can converse.
  • Workshops and training so people can work and simultaneously face their trainer/speaker.

Generally, attendees will be seated facing a long table at the top of the room for the host/speaker.

Conference Style

You may choose this style when hosting:

  • Immersive events like debates and meetings
  • Workshops
  • Where participants need to communicate directly with each other

This style sees single or multiple rows of tables in a room with the required number of seats around the tables. We recommend our Milano Conference Chair for maximum comfort!

Banquet Style with Rectangle Tables

The style is ideal for

  • Conferences with the option to dine
  • An intimate or "micro" style wedding (generally 50 guests or less)

This style of dining is most ideal for any form of seated dining. It typically features the commonplace "top table" that faces attendees, with guests' tables running parallel throughout the event room. Long tables are ideal for flexibility, as they can be pushed against the wall as a space-saving hack, or moved out to accommodate an extra guest or two if needed. We recommend our Rustic Oak Table (6.6ft) for this style of layout, which pairs beautifully with our Rustic Wooden Bench with Foldable Legs or Bentwood Rustic Oak Chair.

Banquet Style with Round Tables.

A banquet style with round tables is an ideal option for:

  • Sit down dinners with a high volume of guests, such as bigger weddings
  • Upbeat events such as award shows, fashion shows and parties

Round tables are ideal for guest interaction as all guests can face each other. They're also space-saving and can work well in unusual shaped rooms/venues.

Round table sizes generally seat 8-10. We recommend our Round Table 6ft paired with our highly popular Chiavari Chair Limewash (Deluxe), which is comfortable, elegant and is available with interchangeable seat pads in the colour of your choice to suit your preference!
