Table Seating and Linen Guide
Here at Hireall.ie, we understand the challenges of event planning, and a frequently asked question is “how many people can sit at a table?”. The answer is, it depends! Our selection of Table Hire options are available in a variety of sizes and styles. You may wish to adopt a uniform approach by filling your venue with the same style, or you may wish to hire a variety of different table shapes to suit your guest numbers or room layout.
The below tables display our selection of tables available, in addition to their sizes. Another frequently asked question is “what size linen do I need?”, which is why we’ve compiled our linen sizes and paired them with the table sizes they’re best suited to in order to help you with this part of the planning process.
Round Tables
The below table shows the sizes available for our round table options. For example, our Round Table 6ft will comfortably seat 10-12 people and should be paired with our Linen Tablecloth 90in x 90in in the colour and design of your choice. Unsure if you should opt for a round table? Here’s some helpful information on the features of round tables:
- A round table allows all guests to face each other and interact more freely, so it’s an ideal option if you value maximum social interaction at your event.
- Are typically more space-efficient than long tables, as they can fit more guests per table
- Create a relaxed and convivial atmosphere
- Are handy if you have an usually shaped room/venue as they are easier to accommodate in tighter spaces/corners

Rectangular Tables
The below table shows the sizes available for our long table options. For example our Table Rectangular 4ft x 30in will comfortably seat 4-6 people (2 on each side and one on each end) and should be paired with our Linen Tablecloth White Ivy Leaf 70in x 70in in the colour and design of your choice. Top tip: we recommend the Rustic Oak Table (6.6ft) and Rustic Wooden Bench with Foldable Legs or Bentwood Rustic Oak Chair for the perfect rustic theme! If you need help deciding on whether to opt for a rectangle/long table, here are some of the key features:
- Can be more space-efficient in a narrow or rectangular room, as they can be placed against the wall
- Allow for a clearer hierarchy of seating positions, with the option to seat hosts or special guests at the head of the table
- Can be built upon to create one long table if desired
- This type of table offers optimal space for decorations such as centrepieces, candles, etc.
